How do I store down jackets during the summer? I have two down jackets and I have no idea how to store them during the summer. Can I just vacuum seal them in the plastic bags? Would that flatten the jackets?

Does Vacuum packing down/feather jackets ruin the feathers? I am shipping things overseas in a few weeks and would like to vacuum pack my down jacket to save space. Will putting my jacket in a vacuum bag and sucking the air out of it ruin the feathers in the jacket? It will be in the bag for about 6 weeks, after which I will take it out and store it hanging. I've read around and a few places say that you shouldn't reduce the size of down things by more than 50% Who know's what?

Where to find North Face down jackets in Malaysia? I'm currently in Malaysia and been looking to buy a North Face down jacket. What are down jackets made of? I'm shopping for a really warm down jacket for the coming winter. The few that I've seen that I like say that they are filled with 70% duck down feathers & 30% fowl feathers. The jackets don't seem very thick. how to care for DOWN PUFFER jackets..? I just bought a DKNY down puffer jacket and I washed it and dry it as "FLUFF" b.c I do not have a low or high setting on my dryer. Goose down jackets - can anyone recommend one? My husband walks dogs on an East Coast beach and cliff - couldn't be colder in Winter - and as he is nearly 70 he is beginning to feel the chill!
