How do you wash down jackets?
I have a really nice north face jacket, but its getting a kinda old and smelly. What's a good way to wash it without ruining the quality? nice answers, but what do tennis balls do? Theres blue spiky rubber balls in my closet, and i think they're supposed to be put in laundry, could i substitute that? would the tennis ball smell rub into the jacket? cause i really dont want that to happen

- i have a calvin klein one i wore all winter, my mom told me to wash it in the washer on cold, and put a tennis ball in the dryer with it. tumble dry low. good luck.
- you can totally throw it in the washer and dryer just make sure you wash on gentle & dry on low heat check it often in the dryer & towards the end tumble with a couple of tennis balls a good quality down filled anything should last forever
- i would wash it in cold water and hang to dry.ask a woman she will give you a better answer.
- Cold water, liquid detergent and delicate cycle dry (if you have). It also helps a lot to put 3-4 tennis balls in the dyer with the jacket to fluff or puff it up. Good luck! Works for me!
- check the tag on the inside of the jacket. It should tell you the proper way to clean it. that said, I have an eddie bauer jacket that is machine wash in warm and tumble dry low or dry clean.
- The tennis balls do NOT make the jacket smell at all. They are to help "beat" the fluff back in, its an old trick nothing new there. I certainly wouldn't use anything with spikes, tennis balls are rather smooth and won't snag the nylon shell.
