Tips on washing goose-down jackets?

I have a goose-down jacket and I am not allowed to dryclean it. How do I go about washing it by hand?

1. I don't recommend machine washing a down jacket. I did that once and ruined it. If you can't get to the dry cleaners right now, you could spot clean it by using an all-purpose cleaner and a damp cloth and wiping the soiled areas repeatedly to remove the dirt. Rinse the cloth frequently for best results.
2. wash it by hand . use baby shampoo to clean it then hang it to drip dry for a wile.don't let it dry completely. put it in the dryer tumble it on air fluff no heat .with a pair of tennis shoes in the dryer with it. the shoes are to re fluff the feathers. if you don't use the shoes the feathers will stick together and ruin the jacket
3. You really can't wash it by hand. There is NO way that you can remove the excess water physically. Use the washing machine, warm. Use the dryer with a pair of clean sneakers, perm. press, and dry until COMPLETELY dry, or it will smell.
